| On seat-belt law Wed, 23 Jul 2008 12:02:54 -0500 HERMAN LENZ SUMNER --- As usual, law enforcement's primary effort is to protect their sacred idol, the seat belt law, because it's easier picking and less dangerous for them to stop and delay drivers and occupants who are not driving in any manner to cause crashes, but are not seat belted, than for them to go after speeding, or careless, or distracted, or aggressive drivers who will cause crashes. It's as perverse and asinine as to enforce a "chastity belt law" to prevent rape and child molestation, and ease up or neglect enforcement on the rapists and attackers. I challenge anyone to write and tell us how a chastity belt law would be any more perverse than the seat belt law is. |
