| No help in Nashua Wed, 9 Jul 2008 12:08:37 -0500 arlene oudekerk NASHUA --- I live here in Nashua and I cannot believe this town. Other places you hear of people coming in and helping their citizens clean up after the floods. Taking the appliances and garbage and everything and helping clean up people's basements and everything. Not here. I'm 73 years old, have arthritis, cannot go up and down stairs, so I can't help my husband clean up and he's not in the best of health either. No one is going to find help for the victim's of the flood here but at our own expense. What is wrong with this town? They just don't care. I'm very disappointed with them. I thought neighbors helped out in times like this or brought somebody in to help. Is this the only town that's not doing this? I've talked to some people and they can't believe this. |
| Waste of space Wed, 9 Jul 2008 12:08:37 -0500 ANDREW G. SEXTON WATERLOO --- Recently, I've noticed a lot of personal letters from one individual to another: for example, "Response to Debra Meyer" by Peg McDonald, Monday, July 7. You would do better to ignore this type of personal grievance airing. First, it's terribly boring and pointless for your readers. Second, it's embarrassing to the squabblers and their families. I'm recommending that these people kindly correspond directly with one another and leave the rest of us out of it; thank you. The editorial page should not waste space on tit-for-tat public posturing. Rather, save it for rationed relevant responses to Clayson-esque rants, power plant propaganda, and other such dubious Courier content. |
